There. It wasn't a long one because there's a boy in here with me and I already look like an idiot in front of him enough.

ANYHOW.

I'm opening up 10 spaces. If I even fill those, I'll consider more but I won't get ahead of myself.

Chibis w/color = $5
One character w/color = $10
Anything more/less/otherwise = email me

I'm leaving it at that. Nothing complicated.
If you're interested, e-mail me with what you're looking for. Anything more than one character/chibi and we can talk out a price. I'll draw original characters, fanart, someone elses characters, pokemans, etc. As long as it's PG.

I'm not doing backgrounds or elaborate settings. But if you e-mail me and have a specific request, we can talk it out.

What to do:
1) E-mail me with your request.
2) Once we agree on the price, I'll send you an invoice via paypal. I'm sorry if you don't have a paypal, but it's the only way that I can accept payments. And unfortunately I can't do requests right now.
3) I'll do a rough sketch and send it to you for your approval.
4) You okay the sketch, and make the payment through paypal.
5) I send you your full-sized commission.

I'll be posting commissions online. However, if you wish for it not to be posted, just let me know in your e-mail. :)

email: vaguelyalluring@gmail.com

Tell me:
- Your name
- Characters name
- Character description
- Character demeanor (if an OC). EX: are they witty, do they have a nervous habit, do they make jokes, are they talkative, are they anti-social, what's their posture like and why? Just as examples. I can get a lot from how a character behaves, so I appreciate any backstory.

And I will get back to you within a few days.

If you've read all that and you're still interested, thank you.
And I look forward to hearing from you. :)lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08413355585141633544noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3770384668790295135.post-39501651903464949772011-02-16T20:56:00.000-08:002011-02-16T22:46:34.795-08:00I know it's heavy, I know it ain't lightFor the first time in a few years, I got to go swing dancing last night. I've been putting it off since I found a place here in Hong Kong that does swing dancing. Mostly probably because I couldn't get anyone to willingly go with me. You'd think I was asking people to shave their heads and give up their limbs by the way they dance around it. Figuratively speaking.
I'd forgotten how much I enjoy swing dancing. I'd probably equate it to the amount of love I have for Tangled in dance form? It's so much fun, I can't believe it's legal. My friends Chloe, Leo and Andrew all came along with me. I think they had fun, for the most part. I know Chloe did, and she'll be going back with me. At least for the next 4 Wednesdays she's here. :/

I don't want to talk about/think about the amount of time I have left with these people. So I won't. 'Cause I already do that enough every day.

The Chinese New Year was a little over a week ago and I enjoyed a parade on a street full of people (discussed time travel with an Egyptian), I got to see Tangled, I've seen Mong Kok at night (basically the sun is always up on that street), been to Aberdeen cemetery, seen some beautiful sunsets, sat outside in perfect weather and read all day, finished my Sketchbook project and had some entertaining outings with friends.

Here are some pictures to recap my return to HK:

View from the balcony of a Pecha Kucha event
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEierc-tcN4sisjIMlK6aZB6UWKj9kFwGhYYHsNo9cab4JGgaIjHu5zQ7dbVyVrQWchfAorfGo1uhv569w4SH7y87lmcDolJTFa__NE_dAObofcBB4lfzuyipRnYdfIbdP3a0fEQljFtwA/s320/100_0009.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5574534464188033266" />
Balcony from the Pecha Kucha event
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOieAJ7CVlrCc4uT6-nN2zi6vE1yiwCB-rOjHk9v-B2U5WsKhKAwsz9Rr4BAyuvJxP8GDRo2Ml6K3bbr1ib1g1aN4TbzkBE29a93iAXWc0jRhYuVuZqxvuH5j5AkvrmTbmLZvS3pP-HQ/s320/100_0005.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5574534482607303778" />
Tangled ad in Admiralty station! And I think I've spent 70% of the last week holed inside my apartment. To start things off, I got in around 9pm Tuesday night and I had class at 9am the next morning. Which was delightful. That's the most accurate adjective I can use to describe the combination of jet lag and education.
Anyhow. After class I took the afternoon bus back to my apartment, and since it's cold outside, I had a cup of noodles and unpacked. Now, I've had this cup of noodles multiple times before. Like all other really crappy, cheap, and sodium riddled foods, it's an easy fix, especially for a student. I'll look to something else to keep me warm next time because I spent the next 3 days vomiting and shivering with a fever. I'm only going to assume it was a mild case of food poisoning. I just don't get sick. Unless it's the sniffles.

I've become very fond of the space heater that SCAD has provided. The apartments here don't have heat, and the weather is really similar to the weather in Florida. I say similar because I didn't think it was possible for anything shy of the rainforest to be more humid then Florida but believe me IT IS POSSIBLE. But the weather right now is lovely and chilly and overcast and rainy. Which also means the apartment is very chilly, and since I've thin Floridian blood, this space heater and my peacoat have been my life savers.

My new roommate is very nice. She brought 7-UP to my aid when I was ill, and even obliged my request to feel my forehead to see if I had a fever. I apologized. I know it's a weird request but how else can I tell without a thermometer?! Don't judge me. She probably did. And now she thinks I'm a big creeper.

After this weekend, I should be adjusted to my school schedule and I intend to go adventuring. I predict a lot of solo flights this quarter. I'm okay with that. So anticipate pictures. I'm going to attempt to keep myself to a weekly update on here. Fingers crossed. :)

Reasons why I'm glad I went home for the break:
+mom's cooking
+Thanksgiving
+seeing my sister
+spending time with my mom
+my brother, Kenny
+Tangled ***
+my bed
+Harry Potter World
+Christmas, birthday & new years in good company
+Chipotle

***There's no way to really explain how something makes you feel to someone. You can be a master wordsmith and decorate your sentences with flowery speech and labor over many syllabled synonyms but it's a moot point. What you feel will always be 2% mystery. One percent you, the other percent is me not being you. So me trying to find the right kind of words to attempt and illustrate the kind of unadulterated felicity certain things bring me is fruitless. I don't mind it, I like that it makes some things that much more personal to me. Like even if you know that I love it, it's still a secret. Like a drug. But I think it makes me sad that I can't physically share the happy. Sometimes it's overwhelming, and I can do nothing but smile and sigh. And I'd really like to give you a reason to smile.

I miss my baby sister.lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08413355585141633544noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3770384668790295135.post-74553214738442351562010-12-07T02:02:00.002-08:002010-12-07T02:32:36.073-08:00and the world has somehow shifted...if you haven't seen Tangled, I highly recommend you skip your next meal/meeting/appointment/nap to do so immediately. Because, quite frankly, that'll be a far better use of your time. It's one of the best movies I've seen in a very long time, let alone one of the best Disney movies in years that isn't Pixar related. It's like a throwback to when they had their golden era with Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast and the Lion King. It's just good. It's legit GOOD. I'm gonna even call it sensational. I'm not a critic and I'm not good with words, just trust me. TRUST ME.

and if you have seen it. nevermind, you're not being reprimanded and you already understand and you're nodding your head in agreement.

i've felt this need to draw the characters since i first fell in love, but i've only been able to do this speed paint so far, from one of the most beautiful scenes from the movie:

inspired by this concept art from the film:

actually, the whole movie inspired me. i feel like i did when i started drawing because of the Lion King.

man.

way to be, Disney.
i'll be up at all hours drawing thanks to you.

but really. thanks.lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08413355585141633544noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3770384668790295135.post-70861251356224337862010-11-25T22:18:00.001-08:002010-11-26T00:30:01.804-08:00it's a beautiful night, we're looking for something dumb to doI'm home for the holidays. It wasn't planned, but it's all right. I was mentally prepped to fly solo for thanksgiving, Christmas, New years and my birthday and end up exploring Hong Kong on my own. But then I would've missed my friends drinking and eating too much and my sister before she leaves me for California.

I saw Tangled tonight, which is easily one of the best Disney movies I've seen in a while. Excluding Toy Story 3, of course. I predict an onslaught of fanart from myself. So, while I listen to the music from this week's Glee episode (mostly "Marry You"), and recall scenes from that spectacular movie, I'm gunning for inspiration. Good old sappy inspiration.

I've got little bit drawing and packing/cleaning to do in the next month, so I'll post the pictures from the last few weeks in HK probably this weekend. In between seeing Deathly Hallows again. Because oh shit was that good. Hands down the best book adaptation. My Weasley and my Butter were with me at the theater this evening (I missed going to the movies so much while I was in HK) and we were discussing Deathly Hallows. A prime topic of our short-lived conversation was the little Ron/Hermione moments they supplied us with. When Ron's staring at her at the wedding, Harry waking up and seeing them looking as if they fell asleep holding hands, while they're playing piano, how upset she is when he leaves and how angry she is at him when he comes back, the whole scene at Malfoy Manor...and everything in between. It's like they've had it stored up and were just like "HERE'S A R/HR EXPLOSION." Haha. Even if the locket destroying scene was a lot more intense then I envisioned. And Harry dancing with Hermione was really sweet, even though it could've come across shady. It was a really nice touch. Aside from the R/Hr moments, everything else was spot on. The animations accompanying the Tale of the Three Brothers blew my mind, I was mesmerized. Bathilda Bagshot was CREEPY AS HELL. Xenophilius was a loony, there were things just for those who've read the books, it was just. Good. Really good.
I'll be seeing it at least 2 more times. At least.

Cranberry malibu is making me sleepy...
I bid thee farewell for the time being. Please think fondly of others as you drift to sleep.lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08413355585141633544noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3770384668790295135.post-25487154971308899722010-11-08T06:21:00.000-08:002010-11-08T06:21:46.847-08:00Andrew Bird's one-man orchestra of the imagination | Video on TED.comI'll never not love this man and everything he can do so effortlessly.

Andrew Bird's one-man orchestra of the imagination | Video on TED.comlisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08413355585141633544noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3770384668790295135.post-90248187563854467882010-10-14T22:53:00.000-07:002010-10-14T23:06:51.492-07:00don't miss you at all. That's a lie. I miss you terribly. It's just Norah speaking. Probably not the best choice of music while I'm sitting alone, but it was Damien Rice up until that point, so I think it's a step in the right direction. This weekend is going to follow suit with the last few weekends I've had. An insane amount of homework, mostly my fault, or my knack for procrastination why I have so much due all on the same day.

I'll be hearing the washing machine for the next 4 hours, because that's how long it takes to do one load of laundry. Maybe I shouldn't change my underwear so many times in one day.

There's rumor of a plan to visit Ocean Park this evening for a Halloween outing. Ocean Park is I guess a pretty big deal here in Hong Kong as far as theme parks go. Roller coasters, lots of people, zoo attractions, it's pretty legit so I've heard. And apparently their Halloween shindig is a good time. However, considering that Halloween is still 2 weeks away, I'm opting out of this weekend outing, especially considering the amount of work I have to do.

At the end of the month I also get to register for classes for the next term. I'm really excited because I can finally take Color Theory. It's been a quiet appreciation of mine (am I quiet about the things I appreciate very often?). I love color and I want to know it intimately. Did I say that? Yes. Do you think color likes red wine? Holding hands? I have butterflies in my tummy.

Ever want something so badly, but you can't have it? Something that you've NO idea why it can't be yours, but it just can't. Like when your parents told you "because I said so" when you asked why you couldn't do something or eat some snack before dinner or watch some show and they had no real valid reason why you couldn't. Frustrating, right?

That's where I stand. Only in the metaphoric sense, because really, some things aren't things and not all things are meant to be owned. But I want it so badly.

I'm now 6 minutes past the time allotment I allowed myself to sit and do nothing before the onslaught of work began. I bid you farewell. More pictures next time.lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08413355585141633544noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3770384668790295135.post-68290111960471570492010-10-08T21:47:00.000-07:002010-10-09T04:41:43.873-07:00if work permits..I realize it has been a number of days since the last time I have said anything noteworthy, let alone typed anything here. The last month has been a gigantic smoothie blended into a mix of days, events, emotions, people, places, food. I'm really, really dizzy at the notion of recalling some of the things I've had to do since this time last month.

I'm in Hong Kong and I'm going to school for animation. Why? Because I wanted to be a Disney animator when I started drawing at 10 years old and I re-realize the love I have for drawing every time I watch a Disney movie, or more recently in my life, a Miyazaki/Ghibli film. However, being surrounded by a lot of people, a few years younger than I am and, what seems like, years ahead of me intellectually/electronically/self-consciously, I'm acutely aware of how much I've yet to learn. That, and all the time I spent doing nothing of merit in my absence from being schooled is kind of like a fuzzy dark spot in my peripheral. If that makes sense? But being here, I think, will make me feel less like someone meek and insignificant, and more like I've got something worth opening my mouth about. It's a work-in-progress.

My mom and sister were both with me for the first 10 days in my new surroundings, and it feels like weeks ago since they left. I think I've spent a total of one day holed up in my apartment doing homework. I've an awesome roommate who likes to stomp around and make noises like a pterodactyl. You know. The usual. The air conditioning in my room wasn't working, up until today! It does, however, smell like adhesive in my room. So I've got the window airing it out so I don't wake up headachey, asphyxiated and experiencing vertigo. It's..."efficient" is the word my roommate used to describe it, but I think that doesn't quite do it justice. Because it's actually very nice. Despite the washing machine/dryer that tends to do very little of...either of those things. Well, a lot of washing, but the dryer likes to do a lot of leaving your clothes dank. And nobody likes dank clothing. Unless you're a dank enthusiast. Which, neither I nor my roommate are so.

There's been so much that has happened, so many things I've seen and people I've met in the brief time I've been here. Seeing how this is my first time being able to sit down and type anything, I had to force myself to because I started this with the intent to keep people updated on life here in HK but have had not the time to do so.

I've got an obscene amount of homework to do all before tomorrow. It's sad I haven't gotten a chance to say much about anything and it's already midterms this week. But I'm going to change that. I've been slightly out of focus. I'm getting it back.lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08413355585141633544noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3770384668790295135.post-87923549867168019922010-08-10T19:58:00.000-07:002010-08-10T20:17:25.162-07:00Oh, love don't let me go..On the other side of AFO I appear, after getting a collective 6 hours of sleep between the 3 days, I emerged from a 16+ hour coma fully rested and ready for fighting. Fists up, guard your face, warm up your nose,-you won't bleed as easy.

I'll be posting images that I did for the con, and a few of the commissions I did that I managed to obtain a picture of. :) I think I've done more drawing in the last week then I have collectively in one whole year of my life. At least since I was about 16? That's a sad statement to make. I'm going to try to commit to a drawing a day when I'm in school. Another thing I'll be posting. Foods/places I encounter mostly-daily, and sketches of the day. Yes. Commitment! I lack it.

I digress. AFO was a fantastic time. I'm glad that I stepped outside my comfort zone; it ended up being a very pleasant experience. If you're reading this and I saw you there, thank you for coming by and hopefully I said hello without looking like I was on 4 kinds of drugs.

You can also be looking forward to a guest comic from my besty, my Weasley, Roobs. A collaboration between the two of us. She'll be the writer, I'll execute the sketches and it'll probably only make sense to the two of us, but I'm hoping you'll at least get some joy out of the lunacy that is our friendship. That and it'll be a creative way for me to communicate with my Weasley outside of written letters. We need our outlets!

I leave you with this, which is a hint of what is to come:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 222px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwP_bMRMBnKoOl15Fw2louvf9Pak7prTHau5qCejZQ8CeZdOFmLHKInjvunVa0pCY_fH_w9MxGQ4dzT0zWqQCs2YZzveUr9uw85dBK2EYko1CWcUJo6TXIznBgJB454TAQJJKORNnHRA/s320/tumblr_kswtzbDHMb1qzr7ibo1_500.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5503984998923767618" />

BOWIE.lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08413355585141633544noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3770384668790295135.post-91677543779277318632010-07-11T05:32:00.000-07:002010-07-11T05:37:42.232-07:00alabama, arkansas.it's not even 9am and I'm up. I feel like that part in Pirates, At World's End when up is down.

I'm leaving for Savannah today to go see Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. if you have yet to experience them, please do. My sister, her boyfriend, and our mutual betchy friend, Danielle, is going with. Why are we leaving this early for a show that starts at 8? Because some Firefly Cafe apparently stops serving banana french toast by 3. And it's a must?

that remains to be seen.

I should be staying to make more quidditch cloaks. }:< BUT I DONT WANNA. It's the worst bastardization of something magnificent and creative and original that I've ever had the misfortune of experiencing.

Don't do that to yourself, unless you're masochistic and thoroughly enjoy experiencing pain. Because that's exactly what that movie is.

And if you've already suffered through it, I offer my condolences.

Here's a consolation for your wounded heart:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioNgTfU-Eco81ndc2ioKSozVZkBbWLSIuWyHZs3LX_QPLzcfmyGlyUlyPJZK-xKHc4KY2nvkuJVXVEIsyf4ECdBiHOn3O9tanhOq4LVh1yRaUd3jLfzkYz1_hehFZCx9siIEYmhHFZBQ/s320/CATSSS.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5489797423243716082" />

kitties do not approve, Shamyalrnamalmyna.lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08413355585141633544noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3770384668790295135.post-37457437713093008322010-06-30T00:37:00.001-07:002010-06-30T00:44:30.540-07:00the ghost inside<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 280px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkCGM37ti54qW0X2FSjt3hGhE8xoOpXe-nZ5zDOHb9z9oaRbjrS-xYukkzwfmTOD7RZ0LoWmRC0EsIlqgcJ40DFvsl_tFTCCymjgrZq8K89bLr4x3vVSYKYHT1TMMq4llP7-J0YSAzwg/s320/narutosasuke.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5488469086526313810" />

naruto & sasuke sketch.
I've only seen a few episodes of naruto, so forgive any inaccuracies. :)lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08413355585141633544noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3770384668790295135.post-71517901417546281202010-06-30T00:10:00.000-07:002010-06-30T00:22:59.950-07:00sleepyhead.I'd like to share some things with you here and there.
